Requirements for Eligibility and Documentation:
You must have a valid learner’s license that has been held for a minimum of six months.
Proof of completion of a Driver’s Education course, which includes a 32-hour classroom instruction and 14 hours of behind-the-wheel training:
If you attended a driving school, obtain DE-964 from the driving school.
If you completed an online driver education course, obtain DE-964 from the online course provider.
For parent-taught students, obtain PTDE-964 from the parent-taught course provider.
Verification of Enrollment (V.O.E) is required for students under 18 and should be obtained from the high school. It expires 30 days from the date of issuance.
A completed 30 Hours Parent Driving Log is also necessary. You can click here to print the 30-hour log.”

Eligibility and Document Requirements:
To be eligible for the Road Test, you must meet the following criteria:
Possess a valid learner’s license (Learners Permit).
Have successfully completed the Impact Texas Young Driver Program (ITYD)http://impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov/. You will need to bring a printed copy of your completion certificate on the day of the Road Test.
The cost of the Driving Test is $70.00, with the following conditions:
You are allowed one attempt for the fee of $70.00. If you wish to make a second attempt on the same day, there will be an additional charge of $40.00. Any attempts on different days will cost $45.00 each.
If you require a school car for the road test, it can be rented for a fee of $25.00. This fee is for the road test only.
